Viruses and Malware
The most common problem people face today with their computers is a virus or malware/adware. The primary signs are popups trying to sell you something, computers capabilities being limited, or your computer getting errors. Removing a virus can take special tools to remove or disable the popups and resticting programs, not readily available in most household antiviruses. Virus removal can take anywhere from 30 minutes to multiple hours. The best preventative measure you can take to keep yourself virus free is to download an antivirus and run it regularly. We recommend Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes as they are free for residential use.
Computer unable to turn on
The most common reason a computer doesn't turn on is that a hardware component inside has failed to turn on. This problem usually takes longer than a typical virus removal, and requires hardware to be purchased to replace the failed hardware. At this point in your computers life it is important to decide if you would like to spend a few hundred repairing the computer or putting that money asside to purchase a newer model. We can help you decide if a new computer is right for you, and take steps to recover the data on your dead computer.
